So I have been preparing for a few days for a trip to Kroger. This week and last week they had Mega Deals. You buy 10 of the participating items and get 50 cents off each item.
I'd like to go through and share with you what I got and what I paid, etc.
Ronzoni pastas are on sale for 49 cents each, in the Mega Deal sale. This includes the varieties: Quick Cook, Smart Taste, Healthy Harvest, and Garden Delight. I was able to print coupons for 30 boxes. (Each coupon was $1.00 off two) and I found one coupon in the Smart Source booklet that came in the mail this week for $1.00 off one box. I picked up a total of 31 boxes and they were all absolutely free. It doesn't look like I made money on them though. I should have made around 81 cents, but I added up the coupons on the receipt and then looked at the amount the receipt listed at the total for Manufacturer coupons and there was a 2$ difference. So between the overages not counted and a calculating mistake somewhere, it shows that I didn't make money off of this purchase. Still a great steal!
I picked up other items from the Mega Deal sale as well.
One box of Chips Ahoy Heath cookies for my husband. I didn't have a coupon so I paid $1.68 for that.
I bought three boxes of Mom's Best Naturals cereal. They are on sale for $1.49 and I had a coupon for each one for 75 cents off. I paid 74 cents for each box.
I also got two half gallons of Silk brand PureCoconut. The sale included PureAlmond as well but they didn't have any and I didn't bother to get a Raincheck on that. They were on sale for $1.99 and a had a coupon for each one that took $1 off each. I ended up paying only $1.98 for two instead of a cent more for one. So basically B1G1 Free!
For those of you unfamiliar with store Rainchecks... If something is on sale and you go to get one/some and they are all out, you can go to the Customer Service counter and ask for a Raincheck on that item. You can then later come back for the item, even if the sale has come and gone, and still get it at the sale price. It's something new I am doing and I like it.
Blue Diamond Almonds (6oz can) is on sale for $1.99. Nuts are expensive! I printed out a coupon for 50 off and the store doubled it. I paid just 99 cents. Pretty darn good for almonds. I think I will print out more if I can and go back before the sale ends on the 14th.
Uncle Bens rices are on sale. They are on sale for $1.29. I printed out coupons for 75 cents off each one(Whole Grain White Rice variety). I paid 54 cents for each box.
I also had a coupon for $1 off Carefree pantyliners. These happen to be on sale (20-22 ct) for $1 each. So free!
I picked up a few other things I needed as well. Two bags of Dixie Crystals powdered sugar (used a coupon for each one). One package Earth Balance Margarine. Two bundles of reduced price bananas. A little head of garlic. A bag of frozen strawberries, store brand. A six pack of O'Soy yogurt cups (used a coupon for 50 cents (doubled)). Ener-G egg replacer. A bag of store brand unbleached all-purpose flour. Two packages of Reynolds Stay-Brite baking cups.
My reciept says that my total savings from coupons, sales, store card, etc was $80.05
It was about $30 for the items that I listed immediately above that weren't free or in the Mega Sale. My total ended up being $38.61. I feel pretty great about this trip!
You can still get in on this pasta sale. Go to Ronzoni.com and it will direct you to the site. Click on the tab for Promotions. Fill in your information, select all the boxes (that you want) and it will print one coupon for each. You should be able to do this twice. If you are able to do it only once, you can still walk away with eight boxes of free pasta. I actually created three new gmail accounts yesterday for couponing. So worth it.
